★ Why Trust Our Shop

Welding That Holds Up

A bad weld on a boom or bucket isn't just ugly — it's a safety risk that fails again under load. Our certified welders use the right process, the right filler metal, and proper preheat for the material.

Certified Welders

Our welders carry current certifications and have the experience to match weld procedure to the base metal — critical for high-strength steels common in modern equipment.

Crack Detection & Prep

Magnetic particle inspection, dye penetrant, and proper grinding/beveling before any rod is struck. Welding over an undetected crack means it comes right back.

Preheat & Procedure

High-strength steels like T-1, AR400, and Hardox require proper preheat, interpass temperature, and cooldown — ignored at your peril. We do it right.

All Welding Processes

MIG (GMAW / FCAW), TIG (GTAW), stick (SMAW), plasma cutting, oxy-fuel torching — we pick the right process for the job and material.

Custom Fabrication

Custom mounts, brackets, hose guards, attachments, and one-off fab work — designed and built to spec, not eyeballed.

Mobile Field Welding

Our welding trucks bring the shop to your jobsite for emergency structural repair or scheduled work on stuck or oversized machines.

⚡ How It Works

Our Welding Process

Cracks chase themselves — that's why prep matters more than the weld itself. We do it in the right order so the fix actually lasts.

1

Inspect & Prep

Find the crack ends, ID the base metal, clean and bevel the joint, drill stop holes if needed.

2

Quote

Written estimate covering labor, materials, and any reinforcement or fabrication needed.

3

Preheat & Weld

Preheat to spec, correct filler and process, controlled interpass temp, post-weld treatment when called for.

4

Inspect & Finish

Visual inspection, grind smooth, paint if needed, return the machine ready to work.

Welding & Fab

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about heavy equipment welding, custom fab work, mobile welding service, and what materials we can handle. Don't see your question? Give us a call.

Find a Location 1-888-380-6420
Do you take outside welding work (not your customers)?
Yes — in addition to servicing our equipment customers, we take general structural welding, custom fab, trailer repair, and industrial work. If it can be welded, give us a call — we'll quote it.
How much does welding repair cost?
Welding is billed on labor (typically by the hour) plus materials. A small bucket crack repair might be a couple hundred dollars; a full bucket rebuild with new cutting edges and wear plate runs significantly more. We always quote in writing before starting work.
Can you weld AR plate or Hardox?
Yes. AR400, AR450, AR500, and Hardox 400/450/500/600 require specific filler metals and proper preheat — we have both the consumables and the procedures. These materials are common in buckets, bucket teeth, wear shoes, and bucket cutting edges.
Can you come to my jobsite?
Yes. Our mobile welding trucks can handle field repairs on stuck or oversized equipment, jobsite emergency repair, and scheduled mobile fab. Some specialty work (preheated heavy steel, hard surfacing, large fab projects) is shop-only.
Can you fabricate custom mounts and attachments?
Yes. We design and build custom mounts (universal skid-steer plate conversions, attachment-specific brackets, plow mounts, etc.), hose guards, light/brush guards, and one-off attachments. Bring us specs, sketches, or photos and we'll quote it.
What welding processes do you use?
MIG (GMAW) and flux-cored arc welding for production work and structural steel, TIG (GTAW) for aluminum, stainless, and precision work, stick (SMAW) for field repair and heavy plate. Plus plasma cutting and oxy-fuel torching for material prep.
Do you weld aluminum?
Yes. We TIG-weld aluminum (5052, 6061, 6063 series) for fab work and repair. Equipment-related aluminum work includes some cab components, trailer parts, and specialty fabrication.
Will welding void my equipment warranty?
For Bobcat, DEVELON, and Kubota machines under warranty, structural welding performed by our certified welders following factory procedures fully preserves coverage. We're authorized to perform warranty welding repair on covered structural issues.
How long does welding repair take?
Simple repairs (bucket crack, cutting edge replacement, small fab) often turn same-day or next-day. Major structural repair on booms, arms, frames, or extensive fab work typically takes 3-10 business days depending on complexity, materials, and shop schedule.
