PL80 Light Tower
The Bobcat® PL80 portable light tower provides long runtimes and even longer maintenance intervals for easy, hassle-free operation.
- One of the most compact light towers available
- Optional LED lamps extend runtime with a 50,000-hour lifespan
- Composite clamshell gives you easy access to all service components
- Ideal for construction, disaster relief, parking lots and special events
From illuminating construction sites for 24-hour productivity to bringing much-needed light to assist with emergency disaster relief operations, count on the Bobcat PL80 portable light tower and its impressive 180-hour run time.
The PL80 is a programmable light tower that can be set to turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn for uninterrupted productivity. The mast rotates a full 360 degrees and extends up to 23 feet high for broad coverage, while each of the lights can be pointed independently. When it comes time to reposition, the PL80 is compact and light enough to be maneuvered by hand.
The Bobcat PL80 vertical mast light tower features a compact footprint for increased jobsite mobility and cost-effective transport – you can fit 17 on a single flatbed truck. It’s powered by a reliable Kubota® engine paired with a high-output 8-kilowatt alternator, giving you both light and power at the same time.
Like all Bobcat products, the PL80 was engineered for maximum productivity, ease of use and low lifetime cost of operation. The innovative clamshell-style canopy is made of a durable, lightweight composite material that lifts easily for quick access to all service points. The Kubota engine has one of the longest maintenance intervals on the market, capable of running for 1,000 hours in between oil changes, reducing downtime and maintenance costs.
If your workday doesn't end, or your event heats up after the sun goes down, trust the Bobcat PL80 to provide safe working conditions with zero interruptions.
What Makes the PL80 Different
More Power — 8 kW Onboard

Long Runtime — 180 hr LED
From 24-hour construction sites to emergency disaster-relief operations, the PL80 delivers up to 180 hours on four LED lamps (97 hours on metal halide) for all-night, all-week productivity.
Programmable Dusk-to-Dawn
The PL80 is a programmable light tower that can be set to turn on at dusk and off at dawn for uninterrupted productivity — safe working conditions with zero interruptions.
360° Mast, 23 ft High, Independent Lamps
The vertical mast rotates a full 360 degrees and extends up to 23 feet for broad coverage, while each of the four lamps can be pointed independently to light exactly where you need it.
Bigger Kubota D1105 Engine
A reliable Kubota® D1105 (15.4 bhp) Tier 4 Final diesel powers the larger alternator while keeping the same compact, easy-to-service package.
Compact — Fit 17 on a Flatbed
The vertical-mast design has a compact footprint for increased jobsite mobility and cost-effective transport — fit 17 units on a single flatbed truck, and it's light enough to reposition by hand.
Clamshell Composite Canopy
The innovative clamshell-style canopy is made of a durable, lightweight composite material that lifts easily for quick access to all service points.
1,000-Hour Oil Intervals
The Kubota engine has one of the longest maintenance intervals on the market, capable of running 1,000 hours between oil changes — reducing downtime and maintenance costs for a low lifetime cost of operation.

Both light towers share the same towable chassis, vertical 360° mast (23 ft lighting height), four independently-aimed metal-halide or LED lamps, programmable dusk-to-dawn operation and a Tier 4 Final Kubota engine with 1,000-hour oil intervals and a 52.4-gallon tank. The PL80 steps up to a larger Kubota D1105 engine and an 8 kW alternator (vs. 6 kW) with more receptacle capacity, trading some runtime for more onboard power. Dimensions are with running gear.
PL80 Features & Benefits

Run all night and then some — up to 180 hours on four LED lamps (97 hours on metal halide), ideal for 24-hour jobsites and emergency disaster-relief operations.
Maintenance-Free LED Option
Optional LED lamps are maintenance-free and rated for 50,000 hours of life — maximum productivity with minimum interruptions.
Programmable Dusk-to-Dawn
Set the tower to turn on at dusk and off at dawn for hands-off, uninterrupted productivity.
Four Independently-Aimed Lamps
Each of the four lamps points independently, so you can put light exactly where the work is.
Mast & Coverage 2
360° Rotation, 23 ft High
The vertical mast rotates a full 360 degrees and extends up to 23 feet for broad, even coverage across the site.
Compact & Hand-Maneuverable
A compact vertical-mast footprint makes the PL80 easy to reposition by hand and cost-effective to transport — fit 17 on a single flatbed truck.
Light & Power 2
8 kW Onboard Power
A high-output 8-kilowatt alternator delivers 120/240 V single-phase power — the most in the lineup — for running more hand tools and small equipment alongside the lights.
More Jobsite Receptacles
Two 120 V GFCI duplexes (NEMA 5-20R) plus a 240 V twist-lock (NEMA L6-30R) come standard — more outlets than the PL65 for power-hungry sites.
Engine & Serviceability 3
Kubota D1105 Engine

1,000-Hour Oil Intervals
One of the longest maintenance intervals on the market — up to 1,000 hours between oil changes — for less downtime and a low lifetime cost of operation.
Clamshell Composite Canopy
A durable, lightweight composite clamshell canopy lifts easily for quick access to every service point.
