What Makes the CT4045 Different
Step Up to the 4000-Platform Compact
The CT4045 HST is a big step up from the 2000/2500 compacts — Bobcat's 4000-platform tractor, built for the heaviest property and acreage work. A turbocharged engine, far greater lift and flow, higher travel speed and a larger frame give it genuine workhorse capability while keeping the same easy controls.
44.9 HP Turbocharged Daedong Diesel
A turbocharged 3-cylinder Daedong 3FT-TL4 produces 44.9 gross horsepower at 2,750 rpm and meets Tier 4 emissions standards. The turbo holds torque even at altitude, and the engine puts 32.8 horsepower to the PTO for the most demanding rotary cutters, tillers, snowblowers and graders.
2,716 lb Three-Point Lift
The Category 1 hitch hoists 2,716 lbs measured 24 inches behind the lift point — far beyond the ~1,631 lbs of the 2000/2500 compacts. That carries the heaviest box blades, 96-inch land graders, large rotary cutters and bale equipment, with a Hydraulic Position Control System holding a repeatable depth.
16.5 GPM Hydraulics & Independent PTO
A total flow of 16.5 gpm — 9.6 to the implement circuit plus 6.9 for steering — is well above the compacts' 11.4 gpm, feeding the FL9 loader, BH86 backhoe and hydraulic attachments with serious volume. An independent rear PTO at 540 rpm and a 2,119-rpm mid PTO switch on and off with a flip of a switch.
Three Transmission Choices — Up to 18 mph
Order it as an infinite 3-range HST (clutch-free twin pedals, cruise control), a 9F/3R manual-shift, or a manual synchro shuttle with shift-on-the-fly direction changes. Top travel speed reaches 18 mph — the fastest in the CT line — with standard 4x4 and wet multi-disc brakes.
FL9 Loader — 1,795 lb Lift to 103 in
The matched FL9 front loader raises 1,795 lbs to a 103-inch bucket pivot-pin height — more lift and reach than the compact-class loaders, for clearing tall trailers, stacking and bulk material. Add the BH86 backhoe for digging footings, trenching and stump work on serious projects.
Full Cat 1 Implement Range
The CT4045 swings the heaviest end of the Category 1 catalog: box blades to 84 inches, land graders to 96 inches, large rotary cutters, tillers, disc harrows, snowblowers, bale unrollers, pallet forks to 4,000 lb, grapples and rock buckets. It's a true work platform for large acreage and livestock operations.
Big, Stable, High-Clearance Frame
At 3,745 lbs and 70.3 inches wide on a 71.2-inch wheelbase, the CT4045 is the largest and most planted CT. A full 15.3 inches of ground clearance clears rough terrain and tall stubble, an 8.6-foot turning radius keeps it surprisingly nimble, and a foldable ROPS, suspension seat, tilt steering and full lighting keep long days comfortable.

CT4045 Features & Benefits
Performance 13
Independent PTO
The CT4045's independent PTO lets you engage or disengage the PTO with the flip of a switch — no stopping the tractor, no clutch. That's a real time-saver on stop-and-go jobs like augering a row of post holes, where you restart the implement again and again as you move from one to the next.
Power Take-Off (PTO)
Power take-off is the heart of a tractor's versatility — till the garden, put in a food plot, clear weeds along ditches and pastures, bore fence-post holes in tough soil, or mow the whole acreage in an afternoon. The CT4045 carries a standard rear PTO plus a mid PTO, and paired with the three-point hitch it drives implement after implement with ease.
Three-Point Hitch
The three-point hitch turns the CT4045 into a true do-anything machine — mowing, tilling, driveway grading, raking, snow moving and more. It accepts the full range of Category 1 implements and is designed to make hooking them up quick and easy.
Three Tire Options
The right tire gets the most out of your tractor, so the CT4045 can be fitted with one of three types to match your ground:
- Agricultural: deep, self-cleaning lugs grip in soft soil and mud and add pull behind heavy loads and implements.
- Turf: a gentler tread that protects lush lawns and finished landscaping from scuffing.
- Industrial: wear- and puncture-resistant, with a wide tread for solid traction across nearly any surface.
Maximum Maneuverability
Big-property work throws a new challenge at you every day, and the CT4045 is built to take it. A well-balanced design and a tight turning radius keep it responsive and easy to place, while high ground clearance lets you keep working over uneven, wet or muddy terrain. A stable wheelbase spreads weight evenly for sure footing on slopes and steadier towing — and depending on transmission, steering brakes can help pivot the tractor tightly on the inside wheel.
Four-Wheel Drive
A working tractor lives and dies by traction. The CT4045 comes with four-wheel drive you can put to work the instant a hill, a wet patch or a heavy load calls for it.
Roll Over Protective Structure (ROPS)
A ROPS is standard on non-cab models and protects the operator in a rollover, as long as it's locked upright with the seatbelt buckled. When clearance is tight, the foldable ROPS drops down to clear branches, doorways and trailer decks, then raises right back up.
Leading Lift Capacity
Strong lift expands what your implements can do, and Bobcat compact tractors are known for class-leading three-point-hitch lift capacity — so the CT4045 can raise and carry heavier implements with confidence and get more out of every attachment.
Turbo-Charged Performance
Equipped with a turbocharger, the CT4045 delivers consistently strong performance and impressive low-end torque that doesn't let up — even at higher altitudes where naturally aspirated engines lose power.
Hydrostatic Transmission (3-Range HST)
The CT4045 HST uses a 3-range hydrostatic transmission that changes speed through hydraulic pressure, much like driving a car — you only pause to switch ranges. A simple twin-pedal layout (one pedal forward, one reverse) makes direction changes quick, which is ideal for loader work, stall cleaning, mowing and tight-quarters maneuvering, and especially easy for newer operators.
Manual-Shift Transmission Option
Prefer a classic gear tractor? The CT4045 is also offered with a manual-shift transmission — an economical, proven setup with nine forward and three reverse gears you select at a stop. It suits constant-speed jobs like mowing, tilling and spraying and handles PTO-heavy work well, with synchronized second and reverse gears to ease loader use.
Manual Synchro Shuttle Transmission
The 4000 platform also offers a manual synchro shuttle transmission with shift-on-the-fly functionality — the closest feel to a stick-shift automobile, letting you change gears and shuttle between forward and reverse without coming to a full stop.
Live PTO
Across the Bobcat tractor lineup, a live PTO is a simple, economical option on 2000-platform tractors with a manual transmission — it uses a mechanical linkage to engage and disengage the PTO, with the tractor stopping before the PTO turns on or off. (The CT4045 itself runs the more flexible independent PTO described above.)
Comfort 5
Operator-Friendly Controls
The CT4045 is built to be easy to run, with controls that help you get more done with less effort. The levers fall naturally to hand, and conveniences like power steering and cruise control let you manage the tractor and its implements with confidence.
Work Lights
When the light goes, the CT4045 keeps working. Bright headlights light the job in front of you in low light, and a long-life LED tail lamp keeps you visible from behind on trails, lanes and back roads.
Premium Comfort
The operator area is laid out for comfortable hours in the seat, with controls and gauges arranged for easy use and an illuminated dash you can read in any light. Fender grips on each side (on select machines) make getting on and off easy, the quiet low-vibration engine eases the day, and extras like an optional rubber floor mat, adjustable seatbelt and cup holder round out a station that's easy to use and easy to enjoy.
Linked Pedal Lever Option
Available on the 2000 platform and up with hydrostatic drive, the linked-pedal option raises engine rpm as you press the travel pedal — so the CT4045 responds much like a car. It makes front-loader control especially intuitive and smooths out a wide range of everyday jobs.
Deluxe Suspension Seat
A comfortable seat keeps you working longer without feeling beat up at day's end. The deluxe suspension seat (on select models) soaks up the vibration and bumps of the job, fully adjusts to fit any operator, and adds a fold-down right-hand armrest for extra support — so you can finish the mowing, clean out the barn or clear one more pasture in comfort.
Uptime-Protection 3
The Bobcat Dealer Network
Great machines need great support behind them. Bobcat's dealer network delivers local authorized service, warranty work and parts availability that's hard to beat — and a dealer like Carleton Equipment, Michigan's authorized Bobcat dealer with 7 locations, keeps your CT4045 running for the long haul.
24-Month, 1,500-Hour Warranty
Your CT4045 is backed by a strong factory warranty: 24 months against defects in materials and workmanship, or 1,500 hours of use — whichever comes first.
Machine Protection
Thoughtful details help the CT4045 shrug off everyday wear:
- A heavy-duty polymer fuel tank keeps fuel clean and won't rust or contaminate.
- A brush guard — included with the front loader, or available separately — shields the front end as you push through brush, branches and debris.
- The streamlined metal hood improves sightlines from the seat and protects the engine and components from dirt and debris.
Versatility 1
Attachment Versatility
For the money, few machines stretch as far as a compact tractor, and Bobcat backs the CT4045 with a deep catalog of implements to maximize your return. Mow a clean, professional cut around the house, auger holes for new trees, clean out the barn or move hay, grade the gravel drive, or clear snow from the house and outbuildings — between the available attachments and 3-point implements, the job list it'll tackle is a long one.
Serviceability 3
One-Side Maintenance
Maintenance is easy when everything's in reach. The CT4045 keeps its daily checks, fluid fills and filters on one side of the engine, so routine upkeep takes only minutes and helps keep the tractor at peak performance.
One-Piece Engine Hood
There are no side panels to wrestle off — the one-piece hood lifts on an air-cylinder assist to open the entire engine bay at once, putting virtually every major service point right in front of you.
All-In-One Fuse and Relay Box
Fuses and relays sit together in one central box, so replacing a fuse or tracking down an electrical issue is quick and painless.
