    What Makes the E20 Different

    Retractable Undercarriage & Long Blade

Hydraulically retract the undercarriage to just 38.6 inches wide to pass through narrow entry and exit points, then extend back to a full 53.5-inch stance for heavy-duty digging. The long blade folds to match — giving you access-anywhere versatility without sacrificing stability on the job.

    Near-Zero Tail Swing

With only 0.35 inches of rear overhang, the E20 rotates with virtually no tail swing — so you can work right next to walls, fences, and obstacles without repositioning the machine. Maximum productivity in minimum space.

    Long Arm — Standard

The E20 comes standard with a long arm, giving you greater reach and more dig depth than a standard arm. Ideal when you need to work farther from the machine, dig deeper trenches, or achieve more dump height without repositioning.

    Load-Sensing Pump & Closed-Center Hydraulics

The load-sensing pump delivers exactly the flow the system needs — no more, no less. Paired with a closed-center hydraulic system, you get smooth multi-functioning, precise positioning, and efficient use of engine horsepower whether you're digging, traveling, or doing both simultaneously.

    In-Track Swing Frame

When digging in an offset position, the swing castings and cylinders stay within the track width — protecting components and letting you dig flush against walls or obstacles. Machines without this design extend outside the tracks in offset positions, limiting access and exposing parts to damage.

    Standard Blade Float

Blade float exerts a minimal, consistent down-force on the blade, letting it follow the contour of the ground with minimal operator input. Simplified grading and leveling — the machine does the work of staying on grade.

    Two-Speed Travel

Select low range for controlled pushing and dozing, high range for faster jobsite mobility. Move across the site quicker and spend more time working, less time repositioning.

    Selectable Control Pattern

Switch between ISO excavator and standard backhoe control patterns from inside the cab — no keys, no special tools required. Set up the machine for whichever operator is running it and get back to work immediately.

    E20

    E20 Features & Benefits

    Performance 14
    Large Boom and Blade Cylinders

Get more hydraulic power for more lifting ability when it really counts. Larger cylinders work with the hydraulic system to improve digging performance and maximize lifting capacity over the front (with the blade down).

    Long Arm

You'll increase your jobsite capabilities with the standard-equipped long arm. You'll gain higher dump height and extra reach allowing you to do more work without repositioning the machine.

Load-Sensing Pump and Closed-Center Hydraulic System

The load-sensing pump, paired with the closed-center hydraulic system, delivers smooth and responsive multi-functioning operations and controllability, along with smooth, precise positioning of the excavator and work group. You'll have more power and flexibility for traveling and operating the work group simultaneously for enhanced productivity and more intuitive operation. The pump makes full use of the engine horsepower for enhanced productivity and machine recovery under load. It improves flow management which results in improved lifting and digging performance and improved overall hydraulic efficiency.

    Zero Tail-Swing

Zero Tail Swing excavators give you more unrestricted rotation and provide greater flexibility if you are constantly working close to objects or against a wall. The rear of the house stays within the width of the tracks through full rotation.

    Optional Add-On Counterweight

Maximize your digging and lifting performance on tough jobs. The optional add-on counterweight can be mounted in the undercarriage or at the rear of the machine on the uprights.

    Hydraulic Travel Controls

Compared to mechanical travel controls, hydraulically controlled travel on Bobcat compact excavators results in smooth, precise movement.

    Standard Fingertip Boom Swing Control

A rocker-style thumb switch, located on the left joystick, provides superior boom swing control with better metering than foot pedals. Multifunctioning actions, such as swinging and traveling simultaneously, are also easier and overall operation is more convenient.

    Fingertip Auxiliary Controls

The fingertip auxiliary hydraulic controls make it easy to activate and operate hydraulic attachments.

    In-Track Swing Frame

When you dig in an offset position, the swing castings and cylinders remain within the tracks to help you work in small spaces. You can dig flush against an obstacle while avoiding contact with the machine. When machines without an in-track swing frame work in an offset digging position, their components extend outside the tracks and reduce their ability to dig in tight areas.

    Two-Speed Travel

Maneuver faster with the Bobcat Two-Speed option. The quicker you can move on your jobsite, the faster you can complete your work. Select low range for pushing and dozing and high range for increased jobsite mobility.

Retractable Undercarriage and Retractable Long Blade

Hydraulically retract the undercarriage to just 38.6 inches wide to pass through narrow entry and exit points for greater access to jobsites big and small. Then return the undercarriage to its full, 53.5-inch stance for heavy-duty work. Operators can also manually fold the outer sections of the long blade to reduce its overall width to just 38.6 inches for greater jobsite access. Fully extended, the long blade matches the width of the undercarriage at 53.5 inches wide.

    Optional Auto Shift

Standard with the cab option, auto-shift travel shifts the machine out of high range and back automatically, offering superb travel performance without having to manually downshift. It automatically transitions the travel motors to and from high range, giving you greater tractive effort with no manual shifting. Simply select the travel speed range and go.

    Long Blade

Long blade enhancements give you improved grading and backfilling performance. A taller blade angled at the top handles more material — and handles it better. Standard blade float simplifies grading and leveling by letting the blade adapt to ground contour without operator input. Changing the blade width to address unique job requirements is quick and easy.

    Blade Float

The E20 features standard-equipped blade float for simplified grading and leveling. Blade float exerts a minimal, consistent down-force on the blade, with minimal operator input.

    Comfort 12
    Premium Joysticks

Feel the quality at your fingertips with joysticks made from premium materials with a better shape for a more comfortable grip. With its impressive response, you'll also reduce your effort with every cycle for reduced fatigue.

    Comfortable Enclosed Cab with Heat

Keep out of the elements and keep the job moving along — even when the weather won't cooperate. The optional heated ROPS/FOPS certified cab is engineered for impressive comfort on harsh jobsites. Wide glass panels and minimal obstructions inside and outside the cab provide enhanced visibility that keeps you more productive.

    Optional Auto Idle

When you stop the work, the E20 anticipates your need for a quieter environment. Auto idle engages automatically when machine functions are not used for four seconds. This saves fuel and lowers noise considerably. When you move the controls or initiate travel, the excavator automatically returns to your previously set throttle position. This feature comes standard with the cab option.

    Reduced Noise Levels

With the low-noise, low-vibration engine and the load-sensing pump that only provides as much flow as needed for the task, you'll experience less noise and enjoy a quieter workday.

    Optional Bluetooth® Radio

Standard with the cab option, the integrated Bluetooth® radio allows a wide range of on-the-job entertainment. Stream music from your phone, tablet or other device and make tough jobs more enjoyable.

    Improved Steps

More distance between the tracks and upper structure provides more space for your boots as you step in and out of the machine.

    After Shutdown Lights

When you're working after sundown — or any time there are low light levels — the after-shutdown lights illuminate the cab so you can gather your belongings and exit the machine more easily.

    Standard Display

The easy-to-read display panel provides full-featured machine interaction and monitoring capabilities from the cab. Diagnostics and detailed operation information you can access through the display include monitoring, troubleshooting and error conditions. If there's a problem with the system voltage, engine oil pressure, engine coolant temperature and other major functions, you'll know. Run your equipment more efficiently and solve more problems in the field with the innovative IQ display. The display also supports multiple languages.

    LED Lights

In dark working conditions, your productivity can still shine. Bright, efficient and reliable standard LEDs provide far-reaching visibility when the light level is low. The adjustable, boom-mounted LED workgroup light also ensures that your lighting is where you need it.

    Flat Floor

The flat floor enhances overall comfort by giving you more room to place your feet comfortably in the cab.

    Easy-to-Reach Control Pattern Selector

The easy-access location lets you choose between ISO and standard patterns without leaving the operator's seat. No keys or special tools are required.

    Optional 3D Grab Handles

3D grab handles on the optional enclosed cab are positioned in front and to the side, giving you the best contact points for easily entering and exiting the excavator.

    Uptime Protection 11
    Next-Level Feature Improvements

Improved durability features including reinforced and easy-opening covers, top light protection, under-boom lighting, wider clearance between the upper structure and tracks, improved cylinder fittings and long-life tracks — all designed to enhance performance and reduce your maintenance needs.

    Robust Work Group

The boom, arm and attachment/bucket offer better lifting performance and even longer durability than before. Cast pivot joints provide precise pin alignment, which lengthens the service life of pivot pins and bushings.

    Improved Cylinder Fittings

Improved cylinder fittings ensure maximum performance and better protection against dirt, dust and debris — so you can rely on Bobcat to confidently conquer job after job.

    Heavy-Duty Travel Motors

The travel motors are built to withstand your most difficult ground conditions. Their durable design ensures increased uptime and reliable performance.

    Reinforced Side Channels

Additional side channel reinforcement provides enhanced durability.

    Steel Hydraulic Lines

Work confidently with long-lasting steel lines that are carefully routed to avoid damage. Bobcat steel hydraulic lines offer better protection than rubber hoses. They're routed through the lower portion of the boom swing casting and tucked securely into the top area of the boom structure, preventing costly damage and protecting component life. Hoses have more steel tubing, well-designed mounts and minimal fittings.

    Machine Protection

Avoid potential damage and be aware of your machine's immediate service needs. Bobcat excavators monitor engine and hydraulic functions. If conditions risk damage to the engine or hydraulic components, the system will alert the operator and, if necessary, de-rate engine power as well as hydraulic flow. It still allows the operator to complete the job at hand or move the excavator to an area for diagnosis.

    Electronic Protection

Bobcat electronics meet or exceed IP67 requirements for sealing, moisture, shock and vibration. Work in tough, humid conditions with less worry about corrosion, or power wash your excavator without wondering if it will start when you are finished. Bobcat electronics feature watertight, corrosion-resistant connectors so you won't slow down from faulty connections.

    Automatic Light Shutoff

The lighting circuit automatically shuts down to prevent accidental battery discharge.

    Transport Feature Enhancements

Bobcat equipment is designed with transportability in mind. Improved lift-point locations, convenient tie-down points and an automatic slew brake offer hassle-free transport to your next job.

    Integrated Slew Brakes

Integrated slew brakes hold your load steady on slopes for more accurate placement. It's easier to position the excavator, and you no longer need to manually engage the slew brake during transport.

    Serviceability 3
    Panoramic Serviceability

Bobcat compact excavators are designed to make routine maintenance easy. A wide opening gives you more space to work, while a smart layout gives you access to critical components. Access engine and pump package, cooling system, and plumbing using the swing-open tailgate and side access door. Filters, fluid checks, air cleaner, battery and other maintenance points are simple to access. When hydraulic fluids move easier, you'll have more available hydraulic horsepower — that's why Bobcat compact excavators have fewer 90-degree fittings, resulting in more efficient hydraulic fluid transfer and better utilization of engine horsepower.

    Tool-Free Side Screen Removal

There's no need to carry tools to gain access to the side screen for maintenance. The side screen opens wide for convenient access and securely latches without tools.

    Easy Starter and Alternator Serviceability

The counterweight doesn't interfere with access to engine components, allowing enhanced serviceability.

    Versatility 3
    Auxiliary Hydraulic Coupler on Boom

The standard-equipped auxiliary coupler, conveniently located on the boom, helps keep it clear of the trench when using narrow buckets.

    Two Coupler Options

The E17 and E20 are equipped with a robust pin-on attachment system for secure bucket and attachment connections, with the option to upgrade to a mechanical pin grabber coupler for faster and easier attachment changes.

    Attachment Versatility

Your excavator is only as productive as the attachments it can power. Bobcat excavator owners get leading jobsite versatility and performance with a wide range of compatible Bobcat attachments.
