iDig 3D Machine Control System

Description:

3D machine control combines GPS/GNSS satellite positioning with a digital project model to provide operators with real-time guidance directly in the cab. The system continuously tracks the exact horizontal and vertical position of the bucket or blade and compares it with the project design, showing operators where to cut, fill, or grade as they work.

Unlike 2D machine control, which typically works from a defined depth, elevation, or slope, 3D control can guide operators across complex surfaces such as curved roads, multi-slope building pads, retention ponds, and detailed site designs. A color-coded cut-and-fill display provides clear guidance throughout the job, helping operators work directly to the digital design while reducing staking, grade checking, rework, and unnecessary machine movement.
