What size deck do I need?
Bigger decks finish open ground faster. Smaller decks get around trees, beds and slopes more easily.
Measure your narrowest gate first: the mower needs 2–4″ of clearance beyond the deck width. Check your shed and trailer too, and count the discharge chute.

Mower questions
They're Bobcat's three zero-turn classes. Residential mowers (ZT2000, ZT3000) are built for homeowners. Pro-Sumer mowers (ZT3500, ZT5000) step up to bigger Kawasaki FX engines and a full mechanical suspension seat for large properties. Commercial mowers (ZT6000, ZT6000e, ZT6100, ZT7000) are built to run all day for landscapers, with decks up to 72″.
Zero-turn riding mowers cover big, open properties fastest. Stand-on mowers cut like a zero-turn but are more compact: easier through gates, smaller on a trailer, and quick to step off to clear debris. Walk-behind mowers give the most control on steep slopes and in tight, landscaped spots where a rider won't fit.
Match the deck to your lawn: about 34–42″ under ½ acre, 42–48″ up to 1 acre, 50–54″ for 1–2 acres, 54–60″ for 2–4 acres, and 60–72″ above 4 acres (open ground). Then check your narrowest gate, allowing 2–4″ beyond the deck width, plus your shed and trailer.
No. You steer with two levers, one per drive wheel: push both forward to go straight, push one further to turn. The controls quickly become second nature, and the hydrostatic drive keeps every move smooth.
AirFX™ is Bobcat's premium cutting deck. It's deep, built from dual-layer 10-gauge steel, and uses bolt-on Air Gap™ baffles to pull more air through the deck, lifting grass to the blades for a cleaner, more even cut. Ask us which models and deck sizes come with it.
